The History and Evolution of the Wristwatch...
Walk into the boardroom of any Fortune 500 company and you’re likely to see dozens of prestigious wristwatches, including such names as Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, Frank Müller, Jaeger-LeCoultre and even Patek Phillipe. However, this was not always the case. Less than 100 years ago, no self-respecting gentleman would be caught dead wearing a wristwatch. In those days of yore, real men carried pocket watches, with a gold half-hunter being the preferred status symbol of the time—no pun intended.
Wristlets, as they were called, were reserved for women, and considered more of a passing fad than a serious timepiece. In fact, they were held in such disdain that many a gentlemen were actually quoted to say they “would sooner wear a skirt as wear a wristwatch”.
The established watchmaking community looked down on them as well. Because of their size, few believed wristlets could be made to achieve any level of accuracy, nor could they withstand the basic rigors of human activity. Therefore, very few companies produced them in quantity, with the vast majority of those being small ladies’ models, with delicate fixed wire or chain-link bracelets.
This all started to change in the nineteenth century, when soldiers discovered their usefulness during wartime situations. Pocket watches were clumsy to carry and thus difficult to operate while in combat. Therefore, soldiers fitted them into primitive “cupped” leather straps so they could be worn on the wrist, thereby freeing up their hands during battle. It is believed that Girard-Perregaux equipped the German Imperial Naval with similar pieces as early as the 1880s, which they wore on their wrists while synchronizing naval attacks, and firing artillery.
Decades later, several technological advents were credited with the British victory in the Anglo-Boer War (South Africa 1899-1902), including smokeless gunpowder, the magazine-fed rifle and even the automatic or machine gun. However, some would argue that it was a not-so-lethal device that helped turn the tide into Britain’s favor: the wristwatch.
Beautiful Invicta Watch Feature
Invicta watches offer bold, innovative designs, quality craftsmanship and a wide variety of styles and prices. You can find a watch to fit both the look of accomplishment you want to achieve at high level business meetings and the durability you need in a timepiece you wear for energetic weekend adventures in the outdoors. Watches have increasingly become a fun, exciting fashion accessory, not just a means to keep track of the time.
The Invicta Men's I Force Swiss Quartz Chronograph XL Leather Strap Watch conveys an image of authority with decidedly modern style, elegant and straightforward at the same time. The case is stainless steel with gold plating. The strap is large and comes in blue or black. The white numerals of the hour and minute hands make an interesting contrast against the blue dial. This very reasonably priced watch has three sub-dials and a date window.
At the higher end of the price scale, the Invicta Reserve Men's Specialty Subaqua Swiss Quartz Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch is a great example of the superior quality of the Invicta Reserve collection of limited production timepieces. Blue and gold again combine to make a powerful yet stylish statement, with components of the highest quality. The watch is made up of 48 separate pieces.
Surgical grade 316L stainless steel was used to make the case. The inner links of the bracelet are 18K gold plates, with outer links in silver tone. The dial is a rich blue color. The index markers on the dial are of Tritnite luminous filling, with sub-dials providing a date scale and a Swiss quarts chronograph. The bezel is a work of art itself, with a unique bottle cap design and six accent screws.
Also of superior quality, but with a more contemporary design is the Invicta Reserve Men's Subaqua Venom Swiss Quartz Chronograph Strap Watch. This watch features another Invicta technological innovation, the Flame Fusion crystal, made through a process of high heat and pressure to produce a crystal with both superior impact and scratch resistance. The watch itself is a sporty, edgy Invicta masterpiece.
The stainless steel case has black ionic plating. The dial is black matte with gray index markers and contrasting silver tone at the hour marks. The hour and minute hands have an intriguing "skeletonized" design and are driven by a Swiss quartz chronograph movement. The black strap is molded polyurethane. This watch is definitely for the individual who wants to lead the trends, not follow them.
The Invicta Men's or Women's Sea Wizard Limited Edition GMT Mesh Bracelet Watch brings its wearers high style at a very reasonable price. The watch is available in a variety of bracelet/dial color combinations, including Invicta's popular gold-tone/blue tone, as well as silver/silver, gold/champagne, and silver/blue. Again with a case made of durable 316L stainless steel, the dial of this watch is made of textured steel.
Roman numerals mark the hour positions. Sub-dial functions include an alarm/power reserve indicator, a day indicator and a second timer. The stainless steel bracelet has a mesh design that is both comfortable and stylish; the gold bracelets come with 18K gold plating. This watch also has Invicta's Flame Fusion crystal.
Almost of futuristic design, the Invicta Men's S1 Touring Swiss Quartz GMT Polyurethane & Nylon Strap Watch is for the individual who seeks to be a part of the latest fashion trends and also have a timepiece with the most up-to-date functionality. The silver tone stainless steel rectangular case evokes power and durability. The dial is available in black or blue. The innovative strap on this watch is made of polyurethane rubber with a nylon fiber inlay. Sub-dials display the date and day of the week and the watch also comes with an alarm on/off indicator.
Invicta Men's Sea Spider Combat Swiss Quartz Chronograph Polyurethane Watch is a watch that is perfect for the individual with an active, high adventure lifestyle. The round black 316L stainless steel case is indicative of the watch's durable design. The label "Swiss Made" that can be found near the 6:00 mark shows this is a timepiece worn by an individual who seeks the highest quality.
Arabic numerals are etched into the bezel. The dial has a bi-level dial with grey accents that adds to this watch's look of strength, sense of adventure and boldness. The black polyurethane bracelet has stainless steel links.
The Invicta Women's Lupah Quartz Day & Date Corian Bracelet Watch has a unique style and is made of an unusual material—Corian, a plastic fashioned from acrylic polymer and alumina trihydrate. The result is a watch with a tasteful, classic design. Its bracelet, also made of Corian with stainless steel insert links, is very comfortable. The watch comes in white or black; the rounded rectangular dial has a silver tone of quiet elegance, and the sub-dials of white mother-of-pearl make this timepiece even more exquisite and fashionable.

Invicta Watch Group
Invicta Watch Group is a Florida-based watch company founded in 1837 by Raphael Picard in La Chaux-de-fonds, Switzerland. The Picard family owned and operated the company until 1991, when the company was purchased by a United States-based investment company. The corporate headquarters were relocated to Hollywood, Florida, where the company also operates its service call center and repair facilities. Eyal Lalo, a third-generation watchmaker, is the CEO of the company and frequently appears on televised ShopNBC programs.
The new management took over manufacturing and continued to market watches under the Invicta banner. Apart from the Invicta brand, the Invicta Watch Group is also responsible for the S. Coifman, Potger-Pietri, Activa, Brizo, Cacciato & Joss, Pastorelli and Technica lines.
Upon moving primary operations from Switzerland, Invicta has continued to design watches, but has outsourced manufacturing to third parties in Switzerland and the Far East. Recently the company also began assembling from facilities at the company's Florida headquarters. Any timepieces manufactured in the United States are part of the "Made in the USA" collection. Swiss-made watches are labeled as such, while the Far East watches are labeled with the country of origin of their movement, as Invicta utilizes ETA (Swiss), Sellita (Swiss), RONDA (Swiss),ISA (Swiss) and Citizen/Miyota (Japanese) movements in their product lines. Invicta is developing its own proprietary movements upon the purchase of Technica Swiss Ebauche Microtenique.
Many Invicta watches, including the company's more popular Pro Diver series, borrow design cues from seminal watches like the Rolex Submariner and Omega Seamaster.[citation needed] The Lupah is one of Invicta's new models of tank (rectangular shaped) chronographs that is targeted towards younger buyers and so available in 196,560 optional variations of dial color and strap types.
The Invicta Watch Group also markets products besides watches including hats and bags.
The company currently holds a grade of D+ from the Better Business Bureau.

"Awesome watch." 2010-02-20By Ding Chavezda (USA)
A great classy watch for us lefties or for those who like to wear it on the right wrist. It's big and shiny, but still looks fine in a relatively small wrist. It catches people's attention, thus the compliments.
"Nice big watch!!" 2010-01-11
By William J. White (Crown Point, IN)
I ordered this watch for myself on Christmas morning (didn't get what I wanted from family). Received it the following Tuesday.
What a nice watch! Being left-handed, it never occured to me to buy a left-handed watch. The quality is very good, with nice, heavy leather strap. Nicely finished and solid, easy to use stems. Easy to read dials.
Very satisfied for the price. A Bargain.
"Real "Eye Catcher" - Excellent Timepiece" 2010-01-10
By El Capitan of TX (Hill Country of TX)
I was smiling when my "Lefty" arrived and I haven't stopped smiling since. Get a lot of positive comments from others. The mineral (crystal) is scratch resistant (I'm hard on watches.) Set the mini-dial second hand to the Navy Atomic Clock (official time,) and decided to sync the chronograph second hand to my school's bell (I'm a teacher.) It is very accurate. Overall, a Fantastic Watch!

"Best of the Lupahs" 2010-03-30
By JD91 (Montclair, CA United States)
This version of Invicta's unique Lupah collection is one of the best I've seen. To date, it is the only chronograph version of the series and, while it not the largest of the Lupahs, the sub-dials can be seen clearly. The classic style of the Arabic numerals also adds to the great looking style of the watch. The black and white motif of the watch give it a classic look without being over-the-top. The leather strap and curvature of the case make the watch feel very comfortable. If you're looking for a Lupah with a chronograph, this is the watch for you!

Beautiful Watch
I just recieved this watch as a Christmas present. All I can say is WOW it is visually stunning. I didn't give it 5 stars because it is probably one of the largest watches I have ever seen. Normally I wouldn't like the size of it, but in this case, it allows the interal gearing to be seen clearly. Yes it is a manual watch, but I don't mind that either. In my opinion it gives it that timeless watch feel.

Great Looking Watch!!!
This watch looks stunning in person! The dial is dark blue...almost looks dark purple in darker settings. The number markings actually kind of have a greenish hue to it...like it's coated with lumite...but it doesn't actually glow-in-the-dark. The hands however do glow in the dark. I don't like the rotating bezel. It's really hard to rotate it because there's nothing to grip on to it and it has a really smooth texture. So I cannot see "divers" being able to use this function...especially considering that the watch will be wet in "diving" scenarios which will make it even harder to use the rotating-bezel as a diving timer.

Nice Gift
Purchased these ladies wrist watch for my wife. Good value of money. Bad thing, leather strap very hard not easy for ladies to open or close. May be become soft after using for few months.
More for Less
Bought the 5767 for my son and myself and believe that the watch in person looks better than it did online. Our next watches will be Invicta as well.

Overall good build quality, but not without its faults.
We've all been waiting for a classy GMT to come back to Invicta's lineup, since the R*lex iterations were removed from the market. The Russian Divers were a close contender, but the "anatomic" series with the jelly-like structure were just plain atrocious (just my opinion). This new lineup seemed promising, and being 'Swiss Made', I had to take the plunge...first, my complaints.

Invicta Men's Diver Collection Automatic Stainless Steel Watch
Great Watch
This is my first Invicta. I appreciate nice watches but don't have a Rolex budget. Saw this watch and decided to give it a try. After 2 weeks I am very pleased with my purchase. It is very nice and considering the price I feel it is a great deal. I will definitely purchase other Invicta watches.
This watch will keep time for about 2 days without being wound. I have several automatics and the movement is better than average for less expensive watches. The band is well constructed but a little light considering the weight of the watch. The links are solid, not folded or bent, so I don't anticipate the band being a source of trouble.
